Product description

Who will be the new king? This box for Chambord's royal galette presents you with four porcelain beans and a crown offered for the king or queen of the day. Young and old children alike will be able to feast on their delicious traditional frangipanes before the chance comes along to crown them once again.

Created on the occasion of the Epiphany in 2019, and to mark the five hundredth anniversary of the beginning of the construction of the castle, Sébastien Gaudard and Chambord have imagined this crown as well as this series of four beans. Each of the pieces are made faithfully to the history of the kings of France, which can be discovered by visiting the castle. The crown is adorned with lilies and golden clovers in homage to Francis I. As for the beans, they honour the crowns of historical figures who have contributed to the development of Chambord over the centuries: Francis I, Louis XIV, the Polish King Stanislas Leszczynski and the Count of Chambord.

This bean case is also a collector's item prized by bean hunters, making it a royal gift to be found on his plate.

Domain note

CHAMBORD X SEBASTIEN GAUDARD

Back in 2015, artisan pastry chef Sébastien Gaudard was inspired by the atmosphere of the estate and the history of Chambord Castle to create unique compositions around tea, herbal tea, and pastries with a nod to Stanislas Leszczynski, Chambord's famous guest and lover of rum babas.

For the 500th anniversary, Chambord and Sébastien Gaudard have created a crown and a series of four royal beans inspired by the history of Chambord. Each piece is a faithful historical representation, some of which can still be seen in the castle. The crown, adorned with lilies and golden shamrocks, is a tribute to François I, to whom we owe the construction of the castle since 1519.

As for the beans, they honor the crowns of historical figures who have contributed to the development of Chambord over the centuries: Francis I, Louis XIV, King Stanislas Leszczynski of Poland and the Count of Chambord. Chambord and Sébastien Gaudard sign this brand association on the back of each bean. Pastry chef from father to son since 1955 and elected "Pastry Chef of the Year 2012" by the Pudlo Guide, Sébastien Gaudard combines heritage and innovation while respecting the French art of living and heritage.
