Product description

Château de Chambord - Cheverny white, cuvée 2023

Aromas:

This fresh, subtle wine displays aromas of yellow fruit (white peach, pear, apricot), citrus (grapefruit, lemon) and exotic fruit (pineapple, mango) that combine elegantly with fine mineral tension.

Food pairing:

This light, delicate wine can be enjoyed at a variety of moments. As an aperitif, it will awaken your taste buds. At the table, it can accompany
shellfish, fish, sushi, seafood and poultry. It can also be enjoyed with everyday dishes such as a goat cheese omelette.

This cuvée is partly aged in oak barrels, which promote its aromatic complexity by allowing numerous exchanges and bringing notes, woody, toasty and new vanilla aromas.

Terroir:

North-south exposure. The soil is predominantly sandy, mixed with clay in the subsoil.

Service and ageing potential:

Domaine de Chambord wines can be cellared for up to five years. It is important to drink this wine at a temperature of between 14° and 16°, which will allow all its aromas to reveal themselves.

Domain note

Chambord wine

In 1519, François I, King of France, ordered the construction of the Château de Chambord. Vines already existed in Chambord during the Renaissance. The Domaine national de Chambord decided to replant 14 hectares of vines in the Ormetrou area, less than two kilometers from the château, on the site of a former vineyard.

Chambord wines are natural, produced using organic eco-certified methods, without the use of sulfites or artificial yeast. They are harvested by hand.

The packaging of Chambord wines, a tribute to the estate's history

The label features motifs specific to Chambord such as the double C, and royal symbols such as François I's crown or the fleur de lys. The “baronne”-shaped bottle was chosen in memory of a model from the personal cellar of Marshal de Saxe, Chambord's guest in the mid-18th century, a specimen of which was unearthed during archaeological excavations. The stopper is also marked with the double C of Chambord.
