The kitchen gardens at Château de Chambord
After a successful first phase of the project, with the creation in 2019 of a 5,000 m2 plot within the Maréchal de Saxe stables, the kitchen gardens are investing in a new five-hectare plot to extend and diversify production.
One of the aims of the kitchen gardens is to promote the "circuit-cour". The primary beneficiaries of this production are visitors, who can enjoy the produce at the various catering outlets on the Domaine de Chambord (55% of production is dedicated to this).
Fruit and vegetable production also benefits local food banks, thanks to exchanges with Secours Populaire Français and schools. The Maréchal de Saxe stables also house a store open to the public, dedicated to vegetables, tools, agricultural literature, seeds, etc.
