Domaine national de Chambord
Covering 5,440 hectares, the Domaine national de Chambord is the largest walled park in Europe. It is home to exceptional flora and fauna. Construction of the Château de Chambord began in 1519. At the same time, François I acquired the farmland adjoining the Boulogne forest to the north of the Cosson, to create the park. Over 2,500 hectares of farmland were annexed.
